Year

2020

Location

On Campus UTS

During my Textile Lab class I created a textile manipulation collection. I have also used textile manipulation techniques on my high school major work.

Textile Lab

The Ferndale Park collection explores the textures created by nature along Swaines Creek in Ferndale Park, Chatswood. I went into the bush and took photos of all the different textures I saw in nature and then reimagined them in my textile collection. I used leather, fabric paint, embroidery thread, braiding and weaving in the collection.

High School Major Work

In the ball gown for my high school major work I used pin tucks to create a diamond pattern. I also laser cut diamonds in delustered satin and lamé, attaching them to the bodice through appliqué. I also used undulating tucks on the back of the bodice.
