These are projects I have made for myself to wear or they have been projects from my high school years.

Cocktail Dress

I made this dress at the end of 2018 - beginning of 2019 for a friends black and gold themed party. It was inspired by the Torrance High Places dress. I modified the Vogue pattern V9344 so the sleeves were a lot longer.

1950s Dress

I made this dress in 2015 at high school (Year 9). We designed the fabric and had it digitally printed. I used watercolour to make the initial design and then manipulated it in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I used the Vogue 8789 pattern to make this dress. I came up with this print design when I was doodling in a Naplan exam as I had already finished it and was waiting to leave. I won the best textile design award at my school, chosen by the owner of Tessuti Fabrics. She said it reminded her of a Gorman print. I also entered this dress into the Apex Australia Teenage Fashion Awards in 2016 and was a NSW state finalist.

Coffee Capsule Top and Skirt

I made a top and skirt out of calico and recycled coffee capsules. I emptied the capsules out and flattened them, I then hot glued them to the top. I self drafted the pattern for the top and skirt. I entered this outfit in the Apex Australia Teenage Fashion Awards in 2017 in the Society and Environment category, I was state champion and made it to the national finals representing NSW.

1950s Denim Swimsuit

I made this top and shorts set from a 1950s swimsuit pattern for a high school assignment. The pattern I used was Vogue 9255. I made the set in denim and then hand embroidered it and added Ric Rac. I entered this outfit in the Apex Australia Teenage Fashion Awards 2017 in the Casual Wear category, I was state champion and made it to the national finals representing NSW.

Emerald Green Year 10 Silk Formal Dress

I made this emerald green silk dress over the course of a year to wear to my year 10 formal in 2016. I had to make a few toiles for it as it is a form fitting dress and I have scoliosis to a small degree but enough that the original pattern for this dress did not sit properly on me. I modified the McCall's pattern M7283 to fit me. I entered this outfit in the Apex Australia Teenage Fashion Awards 2017 in the Formal Wear category, I was state champion and made it to the national finals representing NSW.

Circle Skirt Dress

I made this dress in three different fabrics from 2016-2018. It was made using the Simple Sew pattern Ruby Dress #003. My photographer friend Guy Smith took the photographs for me.

Year 10 History Holocaust Shirt

In Year 10 Elective History we studied the Holocaust and were asked to make an art piece to express what we had learnt. I chose to make a concentration camp shirt which had many symbolic elements on it. The coloured triangles represented the different people who died in concentration camps, the identification number was the number of people who died at the hands of the Nazis. The Star of David represents the Jewish people who were killed in this genocide and the map on the back of the shirt showed all the concentration and death camps that the Nazis built. My shirt was chosen to be displayed in the school library along with a few other students work.

My First Piece of Clothing

This was the first ever piece of clothing I sewed in 2012.
